Certification Prep and Exams with Stukent CTE

This article will go over how to use the certification prep and certification exams within the Stukent CTE platform.

With our Certification Prep and Exams, you can add them to a new course or an existing course. In this article, we will go over how to create a new course for this material.


Before we get started, here are a few key details regarding the Certification Prep and Exams.

  • Each Practice Exam is 40 questions.

  • Each Certification Exam is 40 questions.

  • Each Practice Exam and Certification Exam will bring up a random 40 questions.

  • Practice Exams and Certification Exams will pull from a question bank of 240 questions.

  • You can create as many copies of the Practice Exams as you would like, and will pull another 40 randomized questions for students to take.

  • Students will have 60 minutes to complete the Exams by default.

  • Students will need to select the Exam prior to showing up in your Live Exam portal.

  • Locking the assignment does not stop the Certification Prep and Exam's clock.

  • Saving Answers does not stop the Certification Prep and Exam's clock.

  • Students will need 700/1000 (70%) or higher to receive a certificate.


How to Create a Course with the Certification Prep and Certification Exam

  1. Log in to your account at https://app.cte.stukent.com/ and select + Add Class.

  2. Select the certification preparation you would like for your course.

  3. Within your Certification Prep Course, you will have the following:

    -Certification Prep Overviews: This is an instructor-only resource that will go over what our Certification Exams are designed for, suggestions, and best practices.
    -Study Guides: This will help your students prepare for the practice exams as well as the final exam. Keep in mind that while this guide covers important topics and learning objectives, it does not go over every question that may be in the exam. You are encouraged to use this guide in conjunction with other resources and practice tools to ensure you’re fully prepared.
    -Practice Exams: By Default, there will be 2 exams with 40 questions each. This will pull from a bank of 240 questions.


  4. You can add the Certification Exam by going to +Add Content on your course>Courses>Certifications> Selecting the Certification Exam you would like to add to your course.

  5. You can then Drag and Drop where you would like your exam. For my exam, I created a new Topic named "Exam" and then I placed my Certification Exam within this Topic. Then you'll select Save Changes.


  6. Please make sure you have your materials enabled for Students by toggling on the assignment.

  7. 🪄You've successfully added the Certification Exam to your course. 🪄


How to Allow Students to Take the Exam:

  1. Once students have selected the Certification Exam, they will need to select I'm Ready to let you know they are ready to start the exam. If they change their mind about starting, they can select Unready.


  2. To allow students to take the exam, you will select the exam within your course and select Certifications in the left navigation. This will allow you to manage which students you allow to take the exam in real time.

  3. Select Open under Status for the student you would like to allow into the Certification Exam. Alternatively, if you have multiple students taking the exam, you can also use the Bulk Actions feature to allow multiple students to take the exam.


  4. Select I Confirm Supervision once you have confirmed the student is ready for the exam and in an environment where you can actively supervise to help keep the integrity of the exam.


  5. Students will then receive a message that the exam will open for them and they can select Start. Students will have 60 minutes to complete the exam once they select Start.


  6. In the instructions of the exam, students will receive Instructions, Rules & Expectations, and Tips for Success.

  7. If students would like to close the exam, they will need to select Save Answers or Submit for Grading. Keep in mind that if students select Save Answers, the clock will continue to run.

  8. Students will receive the Certificate if they receive 700/1000(70%) or higher.

  9. Students can view and manage their certificates by going to Certificates at the top of their account within Stukent CTE.



How to Reset Exams for Students:

  1. Select the student's name within the left navigation of the exam.

  2. Next, you'll select the Reset option in the upper right-hand corner and select Reset and Clear Answers. You are unable to unsubmit Certification Exams.


How to Adjust Time on the Exams:

  1. You can adjust the total time for the exam by going to Settings on the Exam itself.

  2. Adjust the total Time Limit and then select Save Changes.


  3. You can adjust the time for individual students by going to Edit Settings for Individual Students> Select the Student> Adjust Time Limit> select Save Changes.



How to Download Your Class's Certificates:

  1. You can download your students certificates in bulk by going to the Certification Exam and selecting students. You can choose to select all students or select individual students and then selecting Bulk Actions.


  2. You will then select Download. This will download and open the certificates on a separate window for you to save and share.


    Students can also view their certificates on their account by selecting Certificates at the top of their account once signed in.
